Here are some studies that i did on how the wall could move through the landscape site.
I chose the third study to carry forward
This is how i interpreted the wall definition as it moved through the landscape. The diagram below will translate this in a final view. I focus on having portions of the wall at 18″-24″ vertical, and some areas where it was sloping downward into the ground, and a final sectional study of the wall actually tilting into the site and engaging the space and occupants.
Here is the model of the site interpreted from the study above. I really like the spaces and how the wall(bedrock) goes away but always returns. When visible it is strong. I am thinking about where the terrain engages the wall areas actually adding a higher vertical rise reinforcing the dominance of the structure.
I could not turn this one the right way . . . this end is N ![]()
This diagram shows the actually connections of the walls and their physical construction.
Also, I used the trees to reinforce the movement of the wall. i think that from those areas i want to develop a visible understanding of succession and development. I also want some of the smaller plant material to engage the wall and allow for a reaction to occur from it. JUST NOT THAT FAR YET.
great progress, keep going…
